With
the passage
of school
bond measures
in many communities,
there has
been steady
growth in
school construction.
This has
created a
strong need
for DSA certified
project inspectors.
Our three-part
program in
DSA regulations
and procedures
was developed
right here,
and is the
only one
of its kind
in the State.
The courses
are held
in cooperation
with the
Division
of the State
Architect
for the State
of California.
Instructor
David Karina,
Assoc. AIA
is a DSA
Class I certified
inspector
with over
31 years
of trade
and inspection
experience
on residential,
commercial,
and public
works projects.
He holds
numerous
certifications
from ICBO,
OSHPD,
and DSA,
as well
as specialty
certifications
for masonry,
shotcrete,
concrete,
and welding.
The following
DSA Regulations
and Procedures
classes
are offered
at the
NOCCCD
Anaheim
Campus
in the
fall, winter
and spring
terms.
Each course
meets one
night a
week for
12 weeks
for a total
of 36 hours
of instruction.
The tuition
for each
course
is $150.
DSA
Regulations and
Procedures –
Part I
This course covers
the administrative
and technical
requirement standards
and procedures
pertinent to
Division of the
State Architect
(DSA) inspectors.
Course will cover
Part I (California
Building Standards
Administrative
code) and Part
II (The California
Building code)
of Title 24 (2001
Edition). Code
books are required.
It is strongly
recommended that
students have
a minimum of
three years experience
in commercial
construction
and be familiar
with the California
Building Code. Strongly
recommend a minimum
of three years
experience in
commercial construction.

II Pre-requisite:
DSA Part
I
Students
will learn
structural,
accessibility,
fire and
life safety
requirement
standards
and procedures
pertinent
to DSA Project
Inspectors.

III Pre-requisite:
DSA Part
2
Part 3 will
focus on
structural,
MEP requirement
standards
and procedures
as well as
plan reading
skills pertinent
to DSA project
