The purpose of the Centers for Applied Competitive Technologies (CACT) is to support the mission of the California Community Colleges Economic Development Program by assisting California manufacturers to remain competitive in changing markets and a global economy.
The North Orange County Community College District CACT is one of 15 statewide CACT sites located at California Community Colleges and their affiliates. The CACTs are dedicated to helping California manufacturers compete successfully in the global marketplace by providing them with a single point access to advanced technology training and technical assistance. CACTs provide access to new manufacturing technologies and help resolve specific manufacturing problems, and facilitate technology transfer opportunities.
CACT can provide:
One-stop service for training and technical services to small and medium sized businesses in advanced management and manufacturing process technology.
A training environment for workforce skills enhancement and technology development.
Partnerships with businesses, industry, service providers and professional organizations.
Handling ETP administration and providing the training.
An integrated approach for technology deployment and educational services through college curriculum.
